Zhangjiajie route sanity check for a slow two-day visit

I know this forum is city-heavy, but I am planning a slow Zhangjiajie visit with one full park day and one buffer day. I want to avoid a route that depends on perfect weather or aggressive stairs.

Would you stay near Wulingyuan both nights, or spend the second night closer to the airport?

Stay near Wulingyuan if the park is the reason for the trip. Moving hotels saves little time and costs flexibility if weather changes.
