Best eSIM fallback when airport WiFi blocks SMS pages

I had an odd loop at PVG: airport WiFi wanted SMS verification, but my roaming SIM did not receive the text until much later. I used a travel eSIM as the fallback and then finished Alipay setup.

For first-timers, buy and install the eSIM before departure. Do not wait until the airport login page becomes your only path online.
